Ad Rock to attend Stand Up to Hate rally at Adam Yauch Park
Yesterday, images from Adam Yauch Park in Brooklyn swept the news and social media. The photos showed the playground at the park had been defiled with swastikas and pro-Trump graffiti.
Yauch, more commonly known as MCA, was a member of legendary hip hop group The Beastie Boys. A practicing Buddhist, he was the son of a Catholic father and Jewish mother. Prior to his death from cancer in 2012, he spoke out against Islamophobia.
Daily news reports show that hate crimes have been on the rise since the election on November 8th.
Hate has no place in Brooklyn, NYC, or our country. Join me & colleagues Sunday to stand against hate messages. 11:30, Adam Yauch Park, BK pic.twitter.com/BZ95sx9HwF

After the images were published, State Senator Daniel Squadron, Congresswoman Nydia Velásquez and local community leaders organized a ‘Stand Up To Hate’ rally that will be held at Adam Yauch Park on November 20 at 11.30 a.m.
Fellow Beastie Boy member Ad Rock will be in attendance.
